This is the spider's pillow, and the threads
Dream in my head and the heart's hallow
Fills with the love of the hallowed

Face by my side, that weaving
Thoughts have made, O afraid,
To Listen to my sorrow that follows.

For I by this twisted fate, fellow
To Hamlet and the skull, make madness
From the sadness yet to come, and fight

Shadows I have erected in an ill hallow,
New perils I have built for to-morrow
And my face, lost in shadow, the hero.

But, Dear, it is your face on the pillow
My dream hallows and the threads catch,
That gives me such heart for to-morrow,
That the stars and the tears watch.
