Well, the first ever journal entry, not really sure how often I'm going to be posting in here, and how often it isn't going to be me just rambling. Must warn you now, my spelling can be really bad at times.
Well lets start at the first day of freshers week. Had a faculty Welcome, completely pointless, putting loads of new students studying a large variation of courses for information that wasn't overly useful and for the most part repeated in the Course Welcome Meeting, which was later that day.
The next day we 'choose' our modules, very few of us could actually choose our modules since there was a set needed for most of the courses, only those doing Chemistry could choose Maths C instead of Maths B. This was the first time I noticed that i seemed to be lacking in the records they had of me, i.e. they had my name and uni number in pen (not printed like the others) and the rest of my details (grades, etc) were non-existent!
On Wednesday we had Registration for Health Center, very long queues, although they did go fairly quickly, then a chat with the nurse about details on our form, surprisingly I didn't have to go off and have something done, like many of the others, which i was kinda expecting. Before that I enrolled at the uni, found out that I appear on the computer system, put not on the pre-printed lists, there was no user id and password waiting for me either, which was slightly annoying, since i then had to join a huge queue at the IT Services Desk to register for a username and password. Also got my Reading Uni student card, as always the picture is bad! Never seen a good picture of me.
Thursday ended up being a day of tests, first a dictation test, to test for dyslexia. Then we had a quick maths/physics/electrical science test. Somehow i managed to get 100% in the maths, and ended up getting 30/34 overall. In the afternoon we had a computerised test of Word and outlook/internet/email. Both being above 92%, which is nice, although there were some really nasty questions in there, and some that i knew how to do, but it wouldn't let me do it the way i usually did them, Grrr. Also First met Melissa properly while outside the computer room.

Onto this week, Monday was a long day, not helping was the fact that we all turned up for a lecture at 9, only to be told that it wasn't going to be on until 10. Not helping was the on/off beeping of something down the hall. Sat next to Melissa in the Maths lecture, then after had lunch. Then back again for physics. Both 'lectures' being intro to the subject, not doing any work.
Tuesday was pretty wasted, since we only had a short 30 minute intro + lab partner picking in the '3 hour' Electrical Science Lab. Very happy with my partner, we get on well (well we have up til now). On a plus it doesn't start until week 3, (currently week 1) so I have next Tuesday off.
Today was fine, tried to get a bus pass in the morning, only to find that the travel shop doesn't open until 10 on a Wednesday, so it was either wait and then be late for the lecture, or come back after uni and be early for the lecture. Needless to say I left to come back after uni. Maths was fine, nice easy stuff at the moment. Still spending all of uni time with Melissa, she's still baffling me with all kinds of things. I don't think i do that good an impression of a sponge, so she'll have to repeat it all at some point. (sorry!!)
Just joined NaNoWriMo, don't know what possessed me to do it, i'm really bad at writing and totally uncreative!
