Flakey Update
She seems to be doing a bit better since Friday. The sub-q fluids seemed to help a lot. She went in for bloodwork today, but unfortunately, we didn't manage to get enough blood for any tests from her. Barely any, really. Her veins are too small and we couldn't keep her still enough long enough to get anything. So instead, I'm going to collect a urine sample and we'll do a urinalysis. The doctor seems to suspect kidney damage now, so we've changed her diet over to MediCal k/d. The prognosis isn't quite so bleak any more either. Since she's eating on her own, he says she could only last a couple months, but if its her kidneys causing most of the problems, then she could last a lot longer. There was talk about me learning to give her fluids myself as needed because she was a little dehydrated again today, so again, more fluids.
She's pretty worn out today, and sore and bruised from the attempts to draw blood-which makes for a cranky Flakey. But she's still eaten a full half can of food so far. Wait and see how it goes, I guess.
