(no subject)
Last night in LA. I just finished packing. I had a pretty crazy/busy last month:
Went to San Francisco July 14-16, Santa Barbara on July 23 (after a great trip to Amgen's company picnic!), Put-In-Bay for a family reunion July 27-30, and Boise, Idaho for a SWE leadership conference last summer. Just last night, I went up to Stephanie's at UCLA with Andrey, had dinner, and went to this AMAZING ice cream shop ($1.35 buys an ice cream sandwhich, made of two fresh baked cookies of your choosing and ice cream of your choosing).
Work wrapped up really well. The VP of Operations came to our final presentation (of the whole company, not just Space and Airborne Systems!) There's a great response to the tool we developed, and it has the potential to literally save millions of dollars. The director of our group gave us "Good to Great" today, and I think I'll read it on the flight back tomorrow - I've always wanted to read it. Or, I'll read it if I ever quick Sudoku. I picked up a Sudoku book in the airport last week (you know, one of the 4 flying trips I've taken in a month), and come to find out, I'm AWFUL at them. But also addicted. And I like to think I'm awful just because I've never really done them before.
So once again, I'm weirded out by the finality of a summer. Leaving LA. Going to the airport and staying at the other end. But its time to go. I have people to see and things to do in Ann Arbor. Its where my life is....oh yeah, and where Dominick's is.
