As an introduction, we do not feed our cats any food that comes from any protein source other than actual meat. The dry food we feed them is grain-free, although one of the canned foods (Blue Spa Select) does have brown rice in it; as I read in a post about this pet food recall early on, "Cat food should have no more grain than what they would find ( Read more... )

We've been feeding them about 1/3 Blue canned and 2/3 Wellness canned, so we're not that hard hit, and we bought our Blue canned about a year ago (when we moved out here, it wasn't sold in New Mexico yet, so we ordered a case of each flavor off their website and are still working through it--IOW it was probably manufactured long before the melamine entered the US).

We also feed Raw Instinct dry food which is 100% grain free.

My kitten thinks that Purina Whisker Lickin' Moist treats are TEH BEST THING EVAR and doesn't realize that the only reason she gets them is that they're easy to smush pills into. She was on anti-inflammatories for an inflamed tear duct for like a month and never caught on.

Gareth actually just checked, and we had only one can of Blue left anyway. Obviously we're getting rid of it, but like I said, Wellness is mostly what they eat as far as canned food.
