And because I'm still in a Whedon mood, Buffy meme! Sort of. Snagged from
snowpuppies.
(I actually have a long, rambling post over on Dreamwidth, but I've re-read it and it's boring, so I will sum up here.)
Buffy seasons by rank:
2 --for the Buffy/Willow/Xander closeness, for the mostly-happy Xander/Cordelia, for Giles/Jenny, for "Passion," "Halloween," "Becoming Pts 1 & 2," for all the cheesy monster of the week episodes, for the rocket launcher.
4/5 tie -- S4: for the silliness, for the fact that it grew on me, for the fact that I love even the stupid episodes, for "Doomed," "Hush," "Restless," "Who Are You," and others; S5: for the maturity of the story, for Dawn, for Tara, for Anya, for "Triangle" and "Spiral" and "Buffy vs Dracula."
6/3 tie --S6: for the angst, for Buffy going from nearly suicidal to wanting to live, for the un-wedding, for Dark Willow (even if I hate how they got her there); S3--for the mayor, for Faith, for "The Wish," for Oz and Cordelia. There's stuff I don't like about either season, but they're still fun.
1--for the silliness, for the cheesiness, for the fact that it got a second season at all, for "Prophecy Girl" and the proto-scoobies and David Boreanaz's wooden acting.
7--for lost potential, for too many characters, for preachy writing, for utter disappointment, for lost story arcs for characters I care about, for the lack of funny, for the miserable experience of watching it.
That about sums it up.
