Wow!! I just got a note from the UPA Director, and thanks to your donations I am nearly 1/2 way to reaching my fundraising goal! This is AWESOME!!

As some of you may or may not know, I'm training to run the Oakland half marathon in March. This will be a huge personal and physical accomplishment for me, and I wanted to dedicate this major milestone in my life to a really great cause. Thankfully, I found one! I'm super excited to dedicate my run to raising funds for the Urban Promise Academy in Oakland!
Urban Promise Academy is a public middle school in the Fruitvale neighborhood of Oakland. They're sending some of their brightest students to DC to participate in an educational study program with the Closeup Foundation and need help paying for the kids to go.
