1) He looks like everyone else; nothing physically marks him as being different from them.
2) He discovers hidden passageways that the original builders had probably created for their amusement, and Erik now uses them for his own.
3) The boy began to fiddle with the telescope, clearly signaling that their brief conversation was over, and Dan stared at Fox’s bent back for a moment before retreating.
4) He still thinks that he can do something, that he can save something.
