First, I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who commented on my last post--I haven't finished replying to everyone but all your comments and ideas made me feel better (and by "feel better" I mean "stop hyperventilating for 10 minutes").
Life still sucks (I called to have my cable disconnected today D':) but I want to make it clear I've never not been aware that I'm still very lucky and privileged in many ways. Overall I'm healthy. I have food. I don't have any kids to support. I have a support system of people who love me and will make sure I have a roof over my head.
I'm not in Haiti.
Needless to say, I can't afford to donate any money myself (I had to steal pennies from the Take a Penny/Leave a Penny tray the other day to pay for toilet paper kk?) but I have plenty of time on my hands (did I mention no more cable???) so I'm pimping myself out for the cause over at the amazing help_haiti community.
I have two auctions you can bid on:
I am offering 100-500 word ficlets HERE in the Lightning Round, and
I'M ON A SHIP...TO HAITI. For the highest bidder, I will custom-write for you the lyrics to one (1) parody filk, similar to I'm On A Ship. (Other examples HERE.) I'll throw in some goodies like accompanying picspam, icon, gif, or vid (PRO TIP: the more you donate, the more you get 8D) Bidding starts at $10.
