Who's ready for Season 3 of Mad Men to finally start?
SO CLOSE AND YET SO FAR AWAY D: Luckily I came across a couple gems to help pass the time:
+ If you go to the iTunes store you can download a video of the "10 Most Shocking Moments on Mad Men". It's a juicy 20 minutes featuring commentary from the cast and Matt Weiner, and they even talk a little about what's to come on Season 3. And it's FREE! (Shocking, I know. Kind of annoyed though because I spent half an hour downloading the HD version just to find out my Touch can't play it? WTF?)

It's one of those doll dress up games, and so in this one you get to put together your Mad Men-inspired outfit, complete with pearls and/or Scotch and cigarette XD I highly suspect the graphics were done by Dyna Moe, whose Mad Men art is fucking badass and I've been meaning to save up to buy one of her prints for my living room.
I don't normally smoke, but if I worked for Sterling Cooper I would. It's like a job requirement.

So then I'm playing around with this thing all night and get to thinking about the 60s and---you know what, I don't even need to justify this. It's a fandom explosion of awesome.
I SHOOPED TOGETHER A MAD MEN/STAR TREK CROSSOVER. IT WAS BEGGING TO BE DONE.
Naturally, Jim Kirk (who is SO the Don Draper of the 23rd Century) is just hanging out shootin' the shit with Bones and being all "HEY THERE SWEET CHEEKS" to Uhura and any other woman in the vicinity, but especially Uhura. Spock does not approve, nor does he approve of Uhura's illogical addiction to rolled paper filled with nicotine and chemical additives, or her need for multiple cups of hot liquid derived from beans of the coffee plant.
Scotty (in his tartan blazer), Sulu (that is not a tennis outfit, it's a fencing outfit ok???) and Chekov are having their hourly scotch-and-smokes break. Chekov is basically all "YAY I'M ONE OF THE GUYS!!!" (I can't even tell you how tempted I was to just dress Chekov up as Peggy. Am still tempted.)
Uhura, like Joan, is too busy being fierce to give a shit about any of them.
I so want to write this into a fic now. XDDD If someone makes a comm like reel_startrek only with TV crossovers instead of movies, I DECLARE I GET FIRST DIBS ON MAD MEN.
So glad I'm finding such constructive uses for the knowledge I just got from my Continuing Education photoshop class.
