1// I have done almost no packing or other preparations to move, other than buying some furnishings. Instead I have been concentrating on fandom pursuits, because as always I have my priorities straight.
1A. I'm applying for
hogwarts_elite. :O I've put more effort into applying for this than I did on my college application. It's harder than my college application. I am excited hardcore.
1B. ~*LESS THAN ONE WEEK TILL XF2*~ :D I got back on track with my series rewatch after having put it off for over a month. Some commentary:
X-Cops-- I hadn't watched this one since it originally aired. It's a lot better than I remembered it. And you guys, forget Cops, it was a total HP crossover!
MULDER: "Scully, what if we're dealing with one creature, one entity that, when it attacks, appears to you as your worst nightmare? Fear. Maybe that's what this thing feeds on."
MULDER AND SCULLY WERE SO CHASING A BOGGART. If only Professor Lupin were around to teach them the Riddikulus charm. Instead it got away. FAIL.
all things-- THEY DID IT IN THIS EPISODE.
I DON'T CARE WHAT THE NOROMOS SAY. I DON'T CARE IF AT THE END IT LOOKS LIKE SHE JUST SLEEPS ON HIS COUCH. THEY GOT JIGGY WITH IT AND YOU KNOW IT AND SO DOES CHRIS CARTER. TRUFAX.
Other than that this episode mostly sucks (sorry Gillz) and that old man creeped me out and his daughter looked like Maggie Gyllenhaal.
Tonight I may stay up and do a marathon just to finish off S7. Then again, S7 is the last good season, so I dunno if I should be in a hurry. Next week I can just watch some choice bits of S8, then skip to the series finale and I'll be good to go for the movie, y/n?
1C.
Gillian Anderson is auctioning off XF stuff for charity. It's all from her personal collection: scripts, apparel, photos, and more, all autographed. It's amazing. I hope something stays cheap enough that I can get in on the action. (OBVIOUSLY having XF stuff in my apartment is much more important than say, a bed. I know you understand.)
And why don't the actors seem to be planning any promotional appearances in NYC? DDD:
Speaking of which...
2// What is the BFD about Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus? Sweet Jesus. She was out in the middle of Times Square today, filming for MTV, and omg the pandemonium. You could not even walk down the sidewalk, the crowd of teeny boppers was so huge. And the cops were doing a lousy job of crowd control (then again, not surprising as the times square cops are not exactly used to having to like, do stuff). You would have thought Madonna was coming, or even, I don't know, Mariah Carey (blechhh). No. Miley fucking Cyrus. For a crowd of chilluns who probably barely know who Madonna IS (and therefore, do not know what real music is). But actually, the teens were pretty okay. THEIR MOMS are the ones to watch out for. "OMG WHERE SHOULD MY DAUGHTER STAND TO SEE MILEY???? WHAT EXIT WILL SHE BE COMING OUT OF!?!?!?! CAN MY DAUGHTER BE ON TV????? DO YOU MIND IF MY DAUGHTER CLIMBS YOUR WINDOWS LIKE A SPIDER MONKEY SO SHE CAN SEE OVER THE CROWD??? WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO????? IF WE DON'T SEE MILEY OUR NYC VACATION WILL BE RUINED AND WE WILL GO BACK HOME TO IOWA IN DESPAIRRRRRRRRRRR"
*ahem* yes. Why is she so incredibly popular? Miley looks like a sweet girl though. Too bad in a few years she'll be the next Lindsay Lohan, smoking crack off people's butts in nightclubs and stuff. Or pregnant like Jamie Lynn Spears. Or both.
Stuff like this is what makes me nervous about what it will be like once DanRad invades our little square D:
ETA:
WHY????? GO HOME PPLZ.
3// Am I the only person on Earth who is ambivalent about The Dark Knight? I'll watch it eventch, but I ain't spending 12 dollars on a ticket when there's plenty of other movies I'd much rather see first. TBH this movie wouldn't be as hyped if Heath Ledger hadn't died. (And whoever's going up against him at the next Oscars won't stand a chance.) Whenever I need a Heath fix, I just watch 10 Things I Hate About You. Done.
