Who-tastic

First of all I'm just going to ignore the fact that I haven't been on LJ for a lifetime and just get straight to it.

Doctor Who babies...have you been watching? Cause I've been acting like I didn't care, but I care..at first I was just waiting out S4 until my Martha came back and I could squee again. Oh and did I ever? But then I sorta decided that if I didn't let all that crappy shippy stuff get in the way of my Who I could enjoy it again. RTD is an ass, his Tinkerbell Doctor and basically assholey way of ending S3 made me dislike the Who. And that's harsh, to make someone not like such a fun thing. But yeah, Donna gave me some laughs, and Martha was all kickass and dignified and awesome. To be honest though, I wasn't committed, I wasn't addicted to the Who like I used to be.

Then Mr Moffatt swooped in and made it all better. I have crazy Moffat love, he wooed me with Coupling and wowed me with every Who ep he's written. He's witty & cool and über scary when he wants to be. He's the cherry on top of your Who. Anyway I LOVED this ep, like everything about it!

The little girl who's living in some sort of Matrix-y fake world, the huge library (oh man I adore libraries, and am a big book devouring dork so this made my day!!) the scary piranha shadows, the creepy face statues, the unnerving electronic ghosting! But most of all my darlings, I loved..loved..LOVED River Song! I loved how she rattled the Doctor, I loved how Moffat totally took over in his awesome 2 parter and penned an entire new future/history for the Doctor. Not too long ago we heard that Moffat was taking over the reigns from RTD and then he does that, he throws in this woman who might be the Doctor's wife, his soulmate, his über companion. Dude and she was cool, like proper cool. The Doctor was so rattled by her it was adorable. It was totally like that book, the Time Traveller's Wife, if you haven't read it you should..it's quite clever. I hope we don't get cheated out of River Song, I hope they don't kill her off cause the prospect of a future..a love & life for the Doctor again would be brilliant. I'm sorry i'm a romantic, I think the dude deserves a break after all of it. *sigh* How fun, can't wait for next week's ep. I have Who fever again, oh RTD you can't touch the Moffat magic. I adore everything that man writes. Ooh random thing I read today, Moffat apparently asked Neil Gaiman to write an ep once he runs the show. No idea if there's any truth in it but god wouldn't that be just brilliant! I think the universe would explode from the awesomeness those two would generate together. Or maybe I'd just explode with sheer squee..anyway I'll chat to you about real life soon, right now I'm basking in my Moffat afterglow. ;)
