Sorry Chell, it's something quite personal and I don't want to put it in a public post, which this is. I'll tell you about it later.
I'm so glad you understand me, no one else I know does, Matt thinks I'm being silly, but of course he can't get it when he earns about £12k more than me. All of our friends round here earn far more and are way ahead in the career stakes. The girl who sits next to me at work (who also went for the same job) is just 23, does the same job as me and earns more than me. Honestly Chell I may have had an idea of what I wanted to do a few years ago but I had no idea of how to go about it and couldn't get anywhere. I'm only in publishing now because I was rejected from a diploma course and my job is only temp. I think the way to find out what you want to do is to think about what you love. What did you want to do when you were little? I always wanted to write children's books but my dream has evolved a bit. Have you tried doing any careers questionnaires? I know they're not always brilliant but it might give you some ideas. I don't think either of us are expecting to even get interviews for the jobs we're applying for but it's the first step. So you think you'll end up moving to the countryside in a few years? You know what's really weird? I had a dream the other night, you and Matt were in it and I think (my) Matt and I were visiting you (or you were visiting us) in a gorgeous cottage and we were going out for a meal together! Anyway, thank you for the crossed fingers and I'll be thinking of you and sending good vibes that you'll discover your calling in life. xx
You're not being silly at all. I always wonder if it was worth going to university and working my backside off only to end up doing the worlds crappiest job at the age of 25.
No, I've not tried any questionnaires but I think I'll give it a go.
I'd love to move to the country, I've always wanted to. I've said for years that I'm not a city girl at heart, I just happen to have been born in one. It's a shame that houses in the country are so expensive! I think the dream is a long way off at the moment.
Ohh, no ones ever told me they've dreamt about me (other than Matt or my parents) before! If you're ever in my neck of the woods and want to go out for dinner just let me know!
Aww thanks Chell, I'll give you a bell whenever we are :) I have a lot of people in my dreams, I have crazy, elaborate dreams. It really was a very pretty cottage we were in ...
I know what you mean, everything back home is so expensive! It'll cost us £700pcm+ to rent anywhere half decent at home. *Sigh* I think my dream of a home in the country will be a dream for a very long time to come.
I actually found the questionnaire thingy on the prospects site quite useful ... and accurate.
