Screencaps: Merlin 2x05
This was another fun one. I enjoy the way the show is going back and forth between lighthearted and serious episodes this season, while still sticking to that slow progression toward the end-of-season drama that every show has. And it was nice to see Merlin a lot this week -- in past weeks, it's seemed like he was a secondary character. I feel like that's probably all I can say without cutting for spoilers, so! PREVIEWS: What you see is what you get. These have not been altered in any way, aside from a filetype conversion. Action scenes came out pretty blurry -- but luckily, there were very few this week. Either that, or the actors have gotten better at voguing for the camera while moving. Hope most of these can be of use, anyway!
Ahh, another week, another episode of my favorite BBC series -- OH GOD WHAT IS THAT THING?!
Much better.
Merlin seems to be just as uncomfortable being accosted by strangers as I am.
So troll-lady Lady Katrina -- screw it, I'm gonna call her Princess Fiona -- has decided to move in on Uther. This is really only hilarious because of all the "ew" faces Arthur makes over the course of the episode.
I'm starting to think that the fabric store near Merlin's wardrobe HQ has a very limited selection.
UGH, Princess Fiona, it's called oral hygiene.
Note the fantastic specimen of the aformentioned "ew" face.
This is really only here because of how pretty Colin Morgan looks. Look at him. He's ridiculous.
Uther takes Princess Fiona on a canoodling picnic at some conveniently located body of water.
And when they come back from the picnic, Merlin warns Arthur that his face will stick like that.
There really isn't a good way to tell a tyrannical king whose good spirits are caused entirely by his new girlfriend that said girlfriend is a troll, is there.
I really enjoy the way Princess Fiona is able to contort her face.

And a gratuitous glowy!eyes shot.
Again, only here because of how pretty Colin Morgan looked this week. ♥

I half-expected the dragon to burst out of the cavern beneath the castle and eat someone. That's how it went in Shrek, right?
Observe Merlin's "to be continued" face. And, uh... haircut? His bangs are like 1½" shorter here than they were in the previous scene.
