maybe it's the combination of caffeine from my really good rendez-vous latte, or the endorphins that I picked up (haha) whilst running on palmer field this afternoon, but I am in the greatest mood today. there's so much to look forward to right now, and I LOVE COLLEGE.
I think I had one of my many epiphanies today because everyone in my hall is going home to their respective states (arizona, california, new jersey, pennsylvania, new york, maryland, texas, illinois, mass...the list goes on...) today for fall break. one, I realized just how close I got to all of these kids. even though they're going home for less than a week, I'm going to miss them! it's ridiculous how close we've all gotten in the past month.
when I first got here, I was worried about being one of a small group here, and that I was missing out on a lot by not being at state, but I love the smaller LAN (livonia-area network hahahaha) around me. I like how we all kind of ban together when necessary. then I went through a short phase where being around so many out-of-staters made me wish that I had given going out of state more of a shot and applied to more out-of-state schools. and THEN finally, I realized that I AM getting an experience by just being around out-of-staters. at no other college in michigan can you live in a dorm hall that houses 16 girls from 9 states (majority being michigan and new york). I already have tentative plans to visit britt in arizona, heather in long island and NYC, and ashley in Miami. the connections that you make here are ridiculous, and I love it.
I also have no midterms next week, just some crazy paper and presentation junk. I plan on coming home saturday night for fall break and holing up at an undisclosed panera/starbucks and just MADLY studying. I can't wait.
