So, um, am I supposed to be spending my twenties rewiring my brain? Like, is that the general standard for this time in life? Because that's pretty much what I'm doing. Here's an overextended metaphor:
Childhood: Grow wires, connect them to things.
Adolescence: Rip wires out, tear them up, connect them to places they obviously don't belong, rip

Thirties: Forget about trying to do anything with the wires, and instead put up wallpaper over them and spend all your time trying to find a couch with a matching fabric pattern. Sublimate all to a desperate retreat into domesticity.
That's a worst-case scenario, but I feel like I've seen it happen a lot. Fight the Furniture, man.

Also, Ryan, you have got a real thing about home decorating. I'm going to go ahead and blame it on you having worked in an interior design shop, but seriously...just let it go. (I say, defensively, because sometimes I think about what I might want a house that I may one day have to look like. Is it so wrong?)
