An example of why it is difficult for me to get rid of things:
Paul & I are sorting through sheets we've been storing in the closet. Many of them are from COLLEGE-- XL Twin sheets. And as they drop from my hand to the donation bag, this thought process blossoms:
Could these be useful to me? Like, what if I find an injured baby bird and bring it home and can't make a nest of it with old sheets? WHAT THEN. It's completely irresponsible to only have sheets around that I use on my bed! These sheets could be invaluable and I won't have to panic when I find a little bird that needs help. I'll have the stuff around to help it. I won't have to buy new sheets if the bird ruins the old sheets.
This useless paranoia paralyzed me for a good 45 seconds. My brain needs to shut up more often than not.
