I expect it's cheating if it's the sort of wish that can only be fulfilled by the person it's about.

Without saying that men don't feel as strongly or as kindly as do ladies - it's true that everyone simply experiences things differently. What's true for them doesn't have to work for you. And so what comes up as a game or a gamble for some people, can still be very meaningful to you.
