The saying goes "If you love someone, let them go" but how do you say good bye to your BEST FRIEND of 17 years? Besides our minor squabbles We've never disliked eachother. I don't think we've gone more than a few days without speaking to eachother .. never more than a day when we were living in the same place!
How do you say good bye to the one stable and dependable thing in your life? I can't possibly let her know how I feel about this. She's moving on with her life and that makes me REALLY REALLY HAPPY. However, I am afraid, terribly afraid of how I'll be without her. It feels all so sudden, but I knew it was comming. I've known since late winter. I feel as though there are bands around my chest and heart. I feel like I'm being constricted by some invisible force. I don't want to say goodbye. People tell me it's not goodbye but how do you possibly stay in close contact with someone living hundreds of miles away? There's no more possibility of late night confidences in the bedroom or Giggling pajama parties. How do you say goodbye to the one person that for some time you felt was the only reason you had to live?

People say goodbye if they intend to see you again. or.. they don't say good bye if they dont think they'll see you again... something like that. I can't remember the quote... makes for a really bad closure when you cant get the wording right..
