So i got this email in my Inbox yesterday about this "Muslim Madonna", and it fuckin annoyed me. You can get all the details at this CNN story here. It's not like i'm down with death threats or anything, but it was the end that really pissed me off when they're all like "Deeya is anticipating to launch her next album in the United States, where she can be who she is without the fear of being persecuted.". WTF?? Muslims are getting persecuted left right and centre in America! What, just as long as they're "good little Western girls" and take all their clothes off, they're safe and "one of the gang"?? Goddamn CNN, i barf all over you! Argh.
Speaking of divas, one of my favourite diva's, Nelly Furtado, has a new album coming up in a month or so called "Loose".... hmm, all i can say is from the press on it, i dont know if i'm really looking forward to it. It seems like Nelly's going the whole route Jewel went when she went crazy with that "Intuition" song, (do you guys remember that?? damn that shit was fuuuhny!). But i mean, i love Nelly... as bad as that is of me since i'm an "indie music fanatic" or whatever, i really liked her last 2 albums... and now she's going all MTV and it's sad. Oh well, there is a story on it here. I mean, check out this picture that's part of her new promo material for the new album??
