I just read two separate music reviews for Belle & Sebastian's new album The Life Pursuit, and one of the critics thinks it's put B&S back on the board, while the other thinks it's their worst effort yet! Man, music critics are such losers... i wonder why i read their crap so much, (envious perhaps?). Anyway, i don't think the album is awful... my fave B&S albums are still Tigermilk and BWTAS, but all of them have at least half of the songs being really good. This one, a few note tracks stand out... so i guess i might be able to agree with the second critic. It probably is their weakest effort, but that doesn't make it bad! Still better than most of the shite out there. Anyway, i'll be happy when i see them at the end of the month. Whooo!
A new concert i found out about yesterday, at Babylon
RJD2 and
Kinnie Starr will be performing on April 12th and Mar. 4th, respectively. Cool huh? I'm not a huge Kinnie Starr fan, but i think it would be cool to see her live. And well i missed my chance of seeing RJD2 at Bluesfest cuz of the storm, so this will be my chance hopefully!
I'm missing the
Evan Dando show this Friday cuz of my Saturday midterm exam :(. Ahh well, damn academics gets in the way of fun things! Damn you academics! Damn you! *shakes fist*
Edit: actually it's not RJD2 alone, he's playing with an act he's in called
Soul Position, which features an Emcee.
