Did you ever see the short-lived Andy Barker, PI? There was an episode in which he engaged in a similar quest to buy a certain stuffed toy for his baby daughter. I believe he found a Russian mobster who had the toy.
I recommend you exhaust all other options before resorting to toy-selling mobsters.
