Lets talk about freedom...

Very politically charged post, you have been WARNED

Bush just signed the Partial-Birth Abortion ban into law. How the hell did our government come to be like this?

I visit Planned Parenthood often, but this time around I decided to go re-visit SaveRoe, a website dedicated to preserving the decision of freedom of choice.

While there I signed up for the March for Freedom of Choice in Washington, D.C. on April 25. I'm enrolling my sisters to go with me. We are all pro-choice and think each women should have the right to decide for herself.

I hate when I tell people I am pro-choice, they assume I am Pro-Abortion. In a way I am, for those women who feel obligated to carry a child to term because of the wishes of others.

I feel every women should own their own body, not allow some government, which is controlled by men, to dictate what we can and can't do with it.

No one discusses abortion as a personal thing, which it is, it is discussed as an issue with statistics. Only once have I heard of abortion from a personal level and that was an article by Heather Corinna, a mentor of mine.

It's amazing how I can bring up the issue to women, women who are opinionated, but yet still shrug at it. They feel that others will take care of this for them. Well, in this day and age, we all have to stand up for our rights. Especially with how our government has transformed since Dubbya has came to office.

I hope to god he doesn't win this upcoming election. I was discussing voting with Kenneth a couple nights ago. He said he doesn't vote, why bother? His vote isn't going to impact anything.

Why bother? You don't have to agree with the canidate you are voting for. You choose the lesser of two evils and hope to god that they agree with your ideal/morals/opinions.

I don't think it's an American's right to vote, it's their JOB. One thing that really irks me to know end is hear peopel bitch about the current state of the government, but when you asked them if they voted they say no.

I didn't vote, not because I didn't want to, but because I couldn't. I was one year shy of legal voting age. If I could have, I definately would have.

I just find that to be total bullshit. Though this might sound so cliched, I believe it's true, every one does count;anything you do in your life makes a difference; one person can make a difference.

I'm an optimistic realist.
