A Busy Saturday

Yesterday was the craft fair, followed by a Halloween night out. So this meant finishing the facings and bindings on my new corset whilst glancing up to smile and say hello every minute or so. End result: stabbed myself with the needle just a few too many times ;-)

Still, I had a lovely day. I'm terrible at table displays as evidenced in the below image:

Most of my stuff is still on display at the bakery, so I only had one sample and two of my own corsets to show, plus the black one I was wearing. Of course, the question I was asked the most was "are they comfortable?". Let me put it this way, after 6 hours sat at a table my bum and legs were going numb, whilst my waist, hips and back were totally fine. Corsets that fit are comfortable!

I got to chat to some lovely people who were tempted over by the shinies. I was also super-excited for Halloween, so the mask was out to match the corset I was finishing. One lady's little boy said it was scary. Then declared that for Halloween he was going to be a Dalek. Cute!

My boyfriend went as Freddie Mercury, and we also had Sarah Palin and a very convincing zombie with us (as anyone on my personal facebook can see). As I promised to show the corset and mask in action, here's a quick snap we took when I got home. I'm obviously not comfortable in front of cameras, but you can kind of see the shaping and details. It fits pretty well considering I was naughty and did it without bust measurements or a fitting. Plus my lovely clip-in hair extensions:

They only make my hair about 3" longer, but considerably more full.

And for reference once again, the inspiration corset:

I did leave off the flossing in the end. I could floss it in the future I guess, but that would mean taking off the lining and binding, so I probably won't.

So after all that rushing I am today having the laziest Sunday I've had in months. Hurrah! All-in-all, a cool Halloween weekend :-)
