manic update
yes, I was planning to work on a cover letter that I have not, in fact, started. I called back the IV job and the hiring manager agreed to give me some contract work. I guess they are bringing in an expert in meta-materials, you know that cloaking system that made the news awhile ago? So, it is a high bar and I may not get the job, but a contract would be cool too.
I had to kick a man to the curb. I haven't met him but he has called a few times. He is partly over-eager and partly uses language that judges me and my situation, gives advice and makes me feel like he's my dad or something. I guess I get irritated when people weigh in with advice or approval for everything I say, regardless of their knowledge. Another guy (met in person at Lake Bronson) dropped by unexpectedly and brought me a bunch of things since I am sick. Chamomile tea, honey, pound cake, jello, etc. When he hugged me goodbye after I kicked him out (graciously) he kissed my shoulder and my cheek. That creeped me out. So I don't know about that one either. A friend of a friend has been picking up all the right things, though. Maybe I should give him more of a chance than I have been thinking. He's a meat eater with stomach issues, so that's kind of lame. But he read my blog and figured out I was back and emailed me, and he likes to go for walks. The other big issue that keeps me hesitant is that he has a busy social life. He's got lots of friend and plans, oh yeah and he drinks, so I feel like I can't/shouldn't/won't ask for much of his time. He came and helped me clean the apartment downstairs, though, and he gave me some brownies. Okay, this guy is scoring points with this entry! We are going to the dog park tomorrow.
My back is starting to get sore from all the coughing. I am dehydrated and so I can't finish my coffee, although I am shaking with caffeine and the job call I made. I hope this work is as obvious and clear to me as can be so I perform it well and they like me. They clearly have money to spend on good people, and the prestige would be spectacular. Even getting this far with them is an accomplishment. woo hoo!!!
