what a great, great, mess.

these days, it seems, the world is heaving its worst at us all. the new year, though only twenty-four days old, looks more like candlelight in this halogen age.

truth is, we all had resolutions, goals, plans for cosmic rebirth. yet as each day passes it seems as though those tiny goals: waking up a little earlier and eating breakfast every morning, aren't as easy as they looked on paper. and even if we are doing our very best and overcoming our obstacles, it seems the universe has something else in store for us just to make sure we don't have things too easy. oh, the unexpected.

i can't even begin to count all the unhappy things that i've heard/seen happen over the course of these days, on both a personal and global scale. yet, there are just as many lovely and amazing things that have happened in this span of time as well. yes, they all add up somewhere and whether or not the positive side has racked up more points than the negative will never be shown. but the one thing i do know, is that today, like all days, is worth putting just as much effort and affection into despite the rain, the cold, the madness, and the if only's...

have faith. the universe does love me, and you too.
this life will make a wonderful story someday, and the freak-outs always make for the best bits anyways.
