I just realized that I haven't posted in like a month. That's no good..
I wish I had more going on to report about, but I'm not really up to all that much these days. But here is what's happened in the past few weeks since my last entry:
-Celebrated my 26th birthday toward the beginning of August. Had probably four of the best days I can ever remember having. Had a very long lunch with Jenn and my mom on my momma's birthday (the day before mine). My birthday was spent by having breakfast with Ricardo, walking around my neighborhood for a long time by myself, going shopping and running into my friend Michelle, Double Daughters with Jordan, Shannon, Andy, Anthony, Eddie, Angie, Kris, Mike and his boyfriend, Nichole, and Ricardo. Then over to Lipgloss with Jordan and Shannon. I was surprised how many people came and went over the evening. Not to mention that just about every bartender (and both DJs, for that matter :P) at the front bar gave me free drinks over the course of the night.. haha.. but Shannon and I managed to call a cab and get back to my place. The next day was the highlight of the weekend - the Denver Post Underground Music Showcase.. 9 hours of awesomeness on Broadway. :) Had brunch with Jenn, Nichole, and Shannon, then trying to catch just about every band I could. *Finally* got to see Me Llamo Rosa (my ex-boyfriend Tyler's band), and was very impressed. Ran into more people than I could possibly count there.. Loved every minute of it. That Sunday my parents had a BBQ at their place in Arvada, and out of all the people that said they were gonna come, only Jenn, Nichole, and Ricardo came out for it. I love that after most of my family saw Jenn again and met Nichole and Ricardo, I've been instructed to bring them all around more often. My grandma was quite charmed by them all, and my cousin Melissa couldn't get over the fact that (in her words) "more freaks" out there like me exist. But I don't think I've ever had so many people show up for a birthday before. So to any of you that came out, called, sent texts, or even just said happy birthday in passing - thank you so much. Best one I've ever had!
-Been spending a lot of time with Jenn and Jordan in general. Jordan and I have been having Footballers Wive$ marathons.. Which basically means getting really drunk early in the day, watching like 2 episodes, and then drinking more. I adore that boy.. We've been co-workers for about a year, but didn't really become friends until this spring. Now I don't think we go more than 1-2 days tops without talking. He's like the gay 21-year-old male version of me.. hahahaha.. Jenn and I have been doing lunch/dinner dates, which I tend to enjoy more than most anything else. Jenn and Jordan finally met, and now he's been at me to have her hang out with us more often. Good times there..
-Been working a ton. But that's nothing new. I'm trying to save up for a down payment for a new car by February. I'm also DYING to see Miss (soon to be Mrs.) Jules in London. It's been FAR too long since I've seen her. I guess that means putting money aside for quite a while, but it would be worth it. As long as Julie and her man don't mind me squatting on their couch for a week, anyway. ;)
-Going to Mexico in about a week and a half for my cousin Justin's wedding. I'm so excited to go. Most of my family is going as well (a lot of you know my extended family is freakin HUGE), and it should be quite interesting to see my family (a bunch of folks who all like to party, drink a lot, and cause a ruckus) and the bride's family (all quite proper and reserved) interact for a week. I haven't had more than a weekend out of town in a while, so I'm using this trip as my vacation.. I already have a time reserved at the resort spa as it is. And as sick as my grandpa is, he's still planning on making the trip down there. Even though he stopped doing chemo and raidation treatments, he keeps saying he wants to have fun before he dies.. and since he wasn't given much time past the holidays, seeing his oldest grandchild get married is a big deal to him. I really hope that he can do it, even if it may not be exactly the most advisable thing to do.
-Speaking of Jordan, I'm doing the AIDS Walk Colorado with him a week from today. I live like 5 blocks from Cheesman Park (where it's being held), so I have no excuse not to do it. I know it's something that's really important to him, so I had to participate. After that's over we're planning on doing brunch somewhere downtown.. anybody wants to do either with us, lemme know. I believe we're doing
The Corner Office -I miss Zach Clark. And Jason Love.
So I think that's about it for me. Sadly, life isn't really all that exciting these days. But hopefully I'll have more stories after these events have happened. :P
