Wait, that isn't even an English flag!

So, Cory and I had a very interesting experience while campaigning for John McCain this weekend. We were walking from door to door encouraging people to vote when we came upon this very interesting man. He was an older gentleman (possibly a little senile). I introduced myself and explained how we were volunteering on behalf of the McCain campaign. He told me that I could "take John McCain, lube him up and shove him up George Bush's butt!"

So, I asked, "does that mean you are voting for Barack Obama?"

He told us, "no, I am not voting in this election. Do you see that flag behind you? That is an English flag. I am ashamed to be an American!"

I replied sweetly, "thank you for your time."

Cory and I walked away laughing. I looked back at the flag and it wasn't even an English flag. I am not exactly sure what kind of flag it was.

The conversation was a little frusterating because I feel no one has a right to complain about our government if they do not vote. Plus, if he was so fond of England, then why doesn't he go back (or at least fly the right flag).
