I crewed on the Pride of Baltimore II tonight. She kicked my ass big time. It was awesome, and I am balancing precariously on taking on the challenge that is Learning to Sail, or jumping off and running as far, far away as I can from anything this daunting.
See me, dangling on to this thread of knowledge that I want so much? Holding on with all my might, not to lose it?
(And Captain Bradley, AND Captain Miles were on board tonight - the Captain Miles who's sailed Pride as captain for longer than I've been alive. One of the best, if not the best, in the industry. This is me shaking in my boots. But loving every minute of it.)
Oh dear god it was amazing. And my hands hurt like hell and are bloody.
And I've got a wad of varnish stuck in my hair. They never tell you varnish doesn't wash out, do they? (denatured alcohol works great, though)
