Danish cartoons...
Gah! Is anyone else fed up with hearing about radical Islams burning embasies...boycotting European goods...the double standards make me sick, piss me off. "The government of Denmark has to do something to appease the Muslim world" (a quote I read in Time magazine from an Egyptian ambassador. HELLO??? I think freaking not! I am a tolerant person, I am a liberal for God's sake (I hate labeling but that's what I've been labeled so oh well). I'm sick of Islamic radicals threatening the discussion of their religion. I know that the cartoons are considered blaspemous in the Muslim world - that is all right and I can see why. We can choose to respect this. However, publishing a politcal cartoon (cartoons by the way that practice no form of restraint against other wakes of politics and religion) by a NON MUSLIM doesn't seem to constitute blasphemy. I've read that the Arab media frequently create similar publications depicting Jews. Have any Jews threatened or suggested the beheading of anyone? Hmmmm.
The double standards are sickening. They set fire to their own people, their own mosques...and where are the protests then? Where are the demonstrations and threats of a future Holocaust?
