Well my little LJ, I'm back. Erin and I talked recently about how we haven't really updated in a while, so here I go.
Spring quarter is well underway. I'm taking English-major classes now, a switch from my businessey ones.. and thusfar I like it. Except I think I have a paper due this week, now that I think about it. I don't think I have any finals.. I keep meaning to check on that, but then I forget to. I might have one in Comparative Studies actually..um yeah, anyway. There are some interesting people in my classes.. I think I like the atmosphere in FCOB better. Some of the people in my English classes act like experts on everything we talk about, which annoys me, but maybe I'm just not thinking hard enough.
Erin and I are playing hockey again this quarter, because we are super awesome! There are two other girls on our team too.. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I bet the boys don't like it too much, but they'll get over it. I guess some of them were calling the other girls Erin and Julie because they thought they were us? I don't really understand, but basically we're going to be hockey legends. We even bought skates and the guy at the store liked us so much he sharpened them for free! We lost our first game, but Jimmy got into a sweet fight. He was throwing punches left and right and there was blood everywhere on the ice.. not really though. But he did get into a small brawl, which could cost us a trip to the championships.. because now if you fight, you're disqualified? I'm not too clear.
What else, what else..
Spring Break was fun! It was good to see Colleen and such, even though we were only there for a few days. I don't think anyone gave a play by play of what happened (and by anyone, I really mean Katie since Amy never updates). Actually, maybe Katie did? I can't remember. But I will tell you a little about that just because I have nothing too important to talk about. We went to the Olive Garden when we arrived in SC, and after a quick trip to the beach (it was dark out) we got dinner at the Olive Garden. Colleen pointed out a kid who was a pool shark. Or maybe he was a card shark? I'm not sure, but he was a shark of sorts. The next day we spent quite a while at the beach, which was so nice. Then we went shopping and made a lovely spaghetti dinner. Someone mixed all the sauce in with the noodles though, so I had to rinse mine off. But it was still good. :) There was a festival for St. Patrick's day, which was rather disappointing, but Gabe's dad was pretty funny and pretty drunk, so at least there was some amusement there. PuttPutting turned out to be a big waste of our lives, but we got some pretty good pictures. I want a puttputt course where there's obstacles and stuff, you know, like a windmill and hills and stuff. We finally got Sonic, which is on TV far too much all considering the location of the nearest Sonic is pretty far away from Columbus. Then we spent an hour watching Gettysburg on fast forward/rewind so Gabe's dad could point himself out and stuff. We should have just watched the movie. Now that I said that, I'm absolutely positive that Katie wrote about this in her LJ. So... I'll stop. But I'm not going to backspace all that, because I'm pretty impressed with the length. :)
mk, so anyways, what else.
Yesterday we went to lunch with Zach and two of his friends from OU. And by we, I mean Katie, Amy, Joel and me. It was real fun to see Zach. He told us a real funny story, which I will now tell you. So, he's making out with some girl.. and then she whispers to him, "are you sure you're not gay?" Come on now, who says that?!
Friday I had a real busy day.. lots of Stater meetings and stuff. Plus I volunteered for GoBuckeye!, some program for newly admitted students. And basically I just stood at 19th and Neil and spun around in circles for a while, hoping someone would ask me where something was. Real boring. Luckily Scott came and stood with me after I'd been there approx 10 minutes and kept me company. One guy did ask me where Taylor Tower was though, and I was real excited to tell him where to go. Plus, it's Taylor Tower and that building has a little bit of my heart. <3 :) mushy
I went rollerskating last weekend! And I do mean rollerSKATING, not blading. I pretty much sucked real bad.. but whatever. Scott took me there for my birthday and we stayed until some girl fell and hurt herself. Unfortunately, I did not get a cake, nor did we have a sweet party area reserved for me.. but it was still fun. :)
We finally took down the lights at Mirror Lake! Not that I have a problem with lights being up all the time... I have lights in my room that are still up. :) In fact, they didn't even go up until after New Year's... but that's another story all together.
Things have been really busy lately, but I like it that way. It's nice to relax sometimes, but I'm pretty confident that I like having things to do more than just sitting around and being lazy.
I would like to go to OU sometime this quarter, but I'm thinking it's not going to happen. I don't have a ton of open weekends, especaially since Katie and I have some pretty sweet parties planned out for later. Casino night, anyone? My personal favorite is the weapon party, held on Armed Forces Day. ;)
Ugh, I have a HUGE stack of books that have to be read. Not that I have a problem with reading.. it's just intimidating! Speaking of which, I should be reading rather than writing in my little LJ.
Actually I have to go hit RECORD and tape Grey's.
