The protest march had a very big turnout. I was glad.
I felt like I did my part, too, because I advertised on 4 social networks, invited scores of people, and advertised for hundreds of others... I'm sure I played a part in at least 1 person's attendance to the event... or at least I hope so.
I can't sleep and my legs hurt, the way they do when I've gotten more exercise than usual. The march can't have been more than 2 miles each way, but I haven't been very active lately.
So these are the signs I made:
Notice how I kept the protest sign from George W. Bush's inauguration day on there!
And this one was a big hit with the crowd. Several people took pictures of me. I hope I end up on the news or the internet or something... well, at least my sign. I don't think I looked very good because I was in a rush and left the house with my hair still part wet = frizzy!
If this doesn't make any sense to you... Prop 2 passed, and gave farm animals more rights and more space to move around . So the chickens get rights, and the gay people don't. Also, you could think of "chickens" as the homophobes who voted for the ban.
I have more pictures, but I've left my camera in the other room and I don't want to wake up Jake so that'll have to wait.
I ran into a few people I knew, including a friend I haven't seen in years. Turns out he's gay. No wonder he wouldn't go out with me. Because I think if he were straight, he might have at least given me a chance. It took me by surprise, but I'm happy that he's finally open about it. Must be a relief.
There is so much to be said about the whole Prop 8 thing.... I want to get involved more. Somebody's gotta do it. Gays are just another minority who need our support. While I'll never fully understand how difficult it can be to be gay, I just can't not want to help. You all will probably get very sick of my talking about it, especially if I don't get a job soon. So it goes.
