Musical

We had a rehersal for the musical after school today. It was awesome. We just did a read through of the first act, but it was so much fun! When I read out my first few lines Ms PJ said I was absolutely fantastic, then nudged the music teacher and I heard her say that it was perfect and exactly what she was looking for. I don't think I've blushed that much in a while. Basically I'm the equivalent of Ms Trunchbull out of 'Matilda'. It's so much fun ordering them all about. Anyway, the girl who plays the main lead couldn't even pronounce any of the words right, including her boyfriend's name! *giggles* That put her back in her place, as she's been acting a bit like she's better than the rest of us.

I also got the music for my solo, and I'm about to scream. It's at exactly the wrong pitch for me. I can't hit this one high note, but if I try to sing an octave lower, I can't reach the lowest note. So basically I'm screwed unless I change halfway through. I haven't actually sung in ages though, so maybe with a bit of practice I'll be able to hit the high note and I won't have to worry. As for my lines, I love them all! They're fantastic! Here's one of the ones from one of the frist few pages:

"Wesley, on the St Strap school buget, we can barely afford chalk, let alone expensive asbestos removal. Now build a bridge, and get over it."

I'm so going to enjoy this experience, and I won't let anything or anyone spoil it. I was so happy to get a speaking part at all, let alone one of the four leads, and a solo. I also got to drive home from rehersal. My week is off to a fantastic start. And with 6 days until my birthday, the week is getting better every day! :)
