A GH "rave"
Ooh boy a tense week. School starts thursday! Am I prepared? Heck no. Do I want to back? Not in the least, but at the same time I'd love to just get my credits and leave.
My mom left for Florida on Sunday, my bro and I have the house to ourselves. It's in pretty good shape, I clean a lot. My poor brother, can't even make Macoroni and Cheese! That's the easiest thing to make but I made it for him anyway.
I swear my cat is inhabited by the spirit of daytime's Erica Kane. No joke, he's such a little diva! I can't handle him at all! Stupid thing woke me up at 5 am and at the back door (why would he go there??) and I banged my head while letting him in.
I have a GH rave, more like an assessment really. It contains a CASTING SPOILER, which I'm sure most GH fans are aware of.

I'm not a Carly fan. I've loved and hated her over the years (moreso hated). When Carly showed up in 1996, she blew me away. Or should I say, the bombshell blond actress who played her, Sarah Brown blew me away. Carly was so harsh, it made me wonder if she was heartless sometimes. BUT then she gave birth to Michael, who she used as a pawn essentially to get Jason to bend to her will. Jason and Carly genuinely fell in love. I found something in Carly I actually liked, she did have a heart after all. THEN 1999 rolls around, she sleeps with Sonny (forming in my opinion, one of the most disgusting and bizarre pairings the show has ever seen) and a new Carly is born.
I tolerated the S&C pairing because Sarah was so good. Heck I even sorta liked it (and I'm a die hard Sonny/Brenda fan t'ill the end). Then Sarah Brown left. I can't be the ONLY person who thought that Tamara Braun, while she's gorgeous and can act, butchered the role of Carly. She made her into this shell of a woman, practically a shrew. All she did was whine, and beg Sonny like a dog. COME ON!! THEN just when GH can't get any worse, they have Sonny SHOOT her in the head while she's in labor and later have her marry/date her stalker and kidnapper. I gotta say, didn't like that.
When Tamara Braun left in April I was thrilled. I wasn't thrilled that Carly was getting recast, but Jennifer Bransford on her first day of the job blew me absolutely away. They got a woman with the same mannerisms as Sarah Brown and Carly was back! She was harder and didn't take crap from anyone. Jennifer truly began to embody the character. I actually liked Carly and Lorenzo for the first time. And now it's been announced that GH is dumping this gem.
The first few months of Tamara Braun's time as Carly I read nothing but negative comments about how horrible she was and how everyone demanded a recast. But Tamara was given a chance. Jennifer has managed to get into the polls and has remained popular with both fanbases and they dump her without giving her a fair chance? I'm pretty disgusted with the show, as I have been since 1999 but there's been signs of hope here and there. With Jennifer leaving, I'm not that optimistic. And along with the weird Jax/Elizabeth baby fiasco and Jason and Sam's dirty dancing rip-off storyline, GH is pretty much crap all around.
Thanks Jennifer for bringing CARLY back to life. I'll definately miss her and wish her all the best.
