Well, our super gig on Thursday was the highlight of MY week.
Not a great photo of the legendary Robin Osterley, but the only one I have. Another great set, with most wonderful songs, though it was harder to hear all the lyrics due to ropey sound. Left to right: Robin, Robin and Robin.
Hotpants Romance were RAD!!! A rocking rocking trashy fun garage blast. Stormsome. I love this band so much. The drummer (centre) had broken both wrists but despite getting a fill-in drummer (ba-boom) still played the kick drum herself.
I would normally say the first week in December is a little early for a Christmas show, but it was St Nicholas's day so Rachael called it the feast of St Nicholas.She made gingerbread for the audience, and gingerbread name-badges for us. I printed some songsheets and rode my hobby-horse around the stage a bit. emily played us in with "Santa Claus is coming to town."
That bag was bought off Elodie Ginsbourg from Plouf!, who made it, years ago.
I had to adjust the brightness level of this one to the max before Rachael (who organised the show as well) was discernable in it. It looked as though I'd tried to take another picture of Emil but slipped or was just drunk. Most of these photos were taken during "Music for travel agents", which I don't do anything in.
