Prompt: anything Kurama/Hiei~
A/N: I’M STILL SO SORRY I COULDN’T DO YOUR ORIGINAL REQUEST. Hopefully this one is okay.

“It’s getting cold out.” Kurama stood at the base of the tree, peering up into its shady branches. “Why don’t you come inside?”
There was no response, but Kurama was certain that Hiei was up there. He glanced around, as if scouting the area for anyone about to see him act so undignified, then climbed up the tree. As he suspected, Hiei was perched on one of the branches, hidden away by the thick leaves.
“Something the matter?” Kurama inquired, sitting down lightly beside him. Hiei gave the redhead a cursory glance before turning back to look out over the houses spread out before them.
“Hn.”
“Yes, I suspected that much,” Kurama remarked, smiling faintly despite Hiei’s uncooperativeness. When you were around Hiei as often as Kurama was, you got used to these sorts of things. “Is it anything that you can’t brood about indoors?”
“It’s nice out,” Hiei replied, pointedly ignoring everything Kurama had been saying.
Kurama took the hint, turning his gaze up towards the dark sky. “Looks like it might snow.”
“Hn.”
“You left your scarf inside,” Kurama told him, the offer to go get it implied.
“Don’t bother,” Hiei answered. After a moment, he moved towards Kurama, sitting down by his side.
Kurama waited for him to continue speaking, but nothing came. “People might get suspicious if you continue to spend so much time hiding up in trees,” he said chattily, knowing full well that Hiei was not one to willingly participate in idle talk.
Hiei snorted. “You think I care?”
“Of course not,” Kurama replied cheerfully. “So what if the neighbors think there’s a little monkey boy living in their trees. It’s perfectly normal.”
Hiei either missed or ignored the sarcasm. “I like being outside.”
Kurama nodded, setting a hand on Hiei’s arm. The fabric of his sleeve was cold against Kurama’s skin. “I know. And I like you indoors when it’s about to blizzard.”
To Kurama’s surprise, Hiei let out a laugh, a sharp sound against the silent night.
“Something funny?”
Shaking his head, Hiei shifted his arm away from Kurama’s touch. “Just how you always try to pretend to care about everyone so much.”
Kurama sighed, reaching over and taking Hiei’s face in his hand, forcing the smaller man to look over at him. “But I’m not pretending. You know that.”
Hiei snorted again, attempting to remove himself from Kurama’s grasp, but he was too slow. Leaning forward, Kurama pressed a kiss to Hiei’s cheek before letting go and standing up. Hiei made a face, glaring at Kurama as he sauntered down to the ground (the damn man could saunter down a tree).
“I’ll get your scarf for you,” Kurama called up to him, smiling. Frowning, Hiei watched Kurama’s retreating form from above, hair still perfectly in place despite the blowing wind.
It started snowing when he disappeared from view, and Hiei sighed. Kurama was always right about the weather.

Prompt: angst, *headwall* angst, *headwall* angst, *headwall*
A/N: So this is pretty much the loosest interpretation of your request EVER but you’ll just have to live with it. Because I love you.

“That can’t be good for your health.”
Zuko groaned, looking up in frustration at the girl talking to him. Toph sat on the steps behind him, hands clasped behind her head.
“What are you doing?” she went on, ignoring anything Zuko had wanted to say.
“It’s none of your business.”
“You toasted my feet. Everything’s my business.”
It was futile to argue with her; Zuko wasn’t that stupid. “What does it look like I’m doing?” he growled, then rolled his eyes and added, “I’m venting my frustration on the wall.”
Toph laughed. “I never would have thought. Perfect Zuko, frustrated.”
Zuko scowled at her. “Are you making fun of me?”
“Of course not,” Toph answered sarcastically. “What’s up?”
He contemplated just walking away from her and not answering, but knowing Toph, she would follow him whether he wanted her to or not. “That dolt,” Zuko said with a snort, “the Avatar, continues to do abysmally at Firebending.”
Toph pursed her lips, scratching the back of her head. “That’s all? Don’t be such a baby. If I gave up at teaching him this quickly, Aang’d have no Earthbending skills.” She uncrossed her legs and leaned forward. “So what are you really angsting about?”
Ugh. He should have just walked away. “I’m not angsting,” Zuko snapped, and Toph raised an eyebrow.
“You were banging your head against a wall.”
“Tch.” Zuko crossed his arms over his chest. “It’s my Firebending.”
When he didn’t explain, Toph waved a hand, saying, “Oh, are we going to play Twenty Questions?”
Zuko glared at her. “You’ve seen our practices - Damn - You know what I - ”
“Yeah, yeah, go on.”
“Well, they’re not working.”
Toph stifled a laugh behind her hand. “Ah. Well. And you’re calling Aang names.”
Zuko gave her a sour look. “It’s just…frustrating, okay.”
“Look, don’t go all emo on us!” Toph rolled her eyes. “And don’t keep banging your head on the wall. Aand needs you to teach him without any brain damage. You’ll figure something out eventually.”
“Even with my Bending, Aang would be hopeless,” Zuko muttered, and Toph smiled. It didn’t do to have so much angst. People made fun of kids like that.
Title: Worries
Fandom: The World Ends With You
Characters: Eri/Shiki
Prompt: [spoilers: Eri angsting over Shiki's death]
A/N: I am bad at angst, it seems. Case in point: this fic. D: I also have no idea when this would have taken place in-game, but ignore that.
Requested by
bobdelilah.
Shiki sighed, leaning against the wall outside 104, hidden from mortal sight. She loved shopping, no doubt about that, but honestly, shopping with Neku was like getting teeth pulled. He wouldn’t know good fashion if it bit him in the nose. Shiki had decided that it would be less painful for both of them if she let him pick his own clothes out (if he really picked out something atrocious, she would intervene, she assured herself).
Around her, people milled about, unaware that supernatural happenings surrounded them. Shiki watched them pass by with little interest. Up until a little while ago, that had been her. If she thought too hard about the other world, she was afraid she might start crying.
Being invisible had its perks, she supposed. No one could see her fall apart in public.
Shiki sighed again and closed her eyes, taking in the sounds of the square. Girls chatting with their boyfriends and children pleading for their parents to buy them things and -
“Eri, aren’t you coming in?”
Shiki’s eyes shot open, face an expression of surprise. Eri? What were the chances of -
“Don’t worry about me, I’m really tired. I’m going to sit here, okay?” Eri was telling her friends, sitting down on a bench near the entrance of 104. Shiki was frozen, torn between running far, far away and staying to watch Eri for as long as she could. What if she was too close to the decal and she became visible? She’d make a mess of everything -
“That was Shiki’s favorite store,” Eri said to no one in particular, and without realizing it, Shiki was at Eri’s side, shouting,
“Eri!”
But didn’t hear her. Instead, the girl sitting on the bench riffled through her bag, pulling out her phone. She stared at it, eyes full of tears, and Shiki reached out a hand, trying to touch Eri’s arm. She grasped at meaningless air.
Eri was crying silently now, fingers wiping away her tears before they trailed down her face. Shiki knew she should look away, for Eri’s sake at the least, but she couldn’t. It hurt to see Eri’s face in every reflection and know it wasn’t Eri she was looking at.
“E-Eri,” she chided through choking laughs, “you shouldn’t cry in public. You should - shouldn’t - ”
“Shiki,” Eri whispered, and Shiki stopped babbling, staring at her friend. There was no way she could have heard - Yeah, it was just a coincidence. A strange, lovely coincidence. Eri wiped her eyes one last time, looking down at her phone. She wasn’t crying anymore, and Shiki relaxed, wiping her own cheeks free of tears.
“Don’t worry about me, Eri,” Shiki murmured, whether Eri could hear her or not.
Holding her phone up, Eri pressed a kiss to the brightly lit screen before snapping it closed and tucking it back into her bag. Waving to her friends as they exited the 104 building, she hurried over to them, Shiki smiling after her.
She would finish this game or else, if only for Eri’s sake.
