Unfortunately, there are people who support him. I do clearly remember a classmate of mine, in middle school, whose whole family (including her) were pro-Berlusconi. She was also vehemently homophobic though so I'm not surprised =_=

They refuse to believe that he can do wrong and even when they recognize it they insist saying that he's the "lesser evil".

While I do think that ALL our politics sucks and we can only choose the lesser evil, I'd highly doubt that he fits the profile; even if you're not gay or trans and do not have to face homophobia and transphobia that right-wingers promote, they still did several things like cutting money from education (and hiring less teachers...now we're back to having ONE teacher for several different subjects in first schools =_=) which I would define as shitty ideas, expecially given the average amount of ignorance of the population (quick example: in my classroom in High School, I was the only one who could write, read and hear English almost fluently, some other persons were rather good too (like, 3 or 4 persons) and...the rest wasn't even able to remember to add the "s" at the end of verbs in the third person =_= or to understand words like "suddenly" or "despite". English is an important subject, at least as important as Math since if you go anywere else nobody will understand if you only speak Italian, and several jobs require a decent knowledge of spoken English.
This doesn't just happen in my classroom, a lot of people here can't speak basic English, stuff like "I would like to order X thing" or "The Chemistry is on the opposite side of the road, between the Post Office and the Grocery Store").
