So much going on lately.
I started my new internship jobby at the Center for Inspired Teaching last week, after going to NYC for the weekend, where I hung out with the brother, my great aunt and grandma, and Mikey, Rachel, Chris and Jen, started working on a book project with one of my professors and colleagues from the program on national identity, and went out every single night save Tues (non-violence education advocate speaker for my internship program). Crazy!

Mon I caught up with my friend Sarah who's in my program and was my zumba/exercise partner during the year. I also ran into her at the local coffeeshop all the time. We hadn't seen each other since finals began and she left this weekend for Geneva - a summer study abroad program that CCT does in technology and international development. So we caught up over some snacks and drinks in Dupont Circle.

Tues I already covered.

Wed I met up with my friend Randy who's also left this past week to Lebannon to study Arabic for the summer. He treated me to burgers and shakes at Johnny Rockets at Georgetown, and then we went out for a drink where he was getting hit on/solicited for crew (rowing club).

Thurs I saw Mugsie, a splendid human being whom I met and hung out with a bunch when I was in Melbourne. We walked around the U Street corridor and had dinner/got stuffed at a great little Ethiopian place (real Ethiopians inside, so you know it was good), then we walked to Dupont Circle and got a drink at a low key bar before splitting up and heading home. She was in town for a friend's wedding. Hopefully I'll get to see her again when she hits up DC again in August.

Fri I went to a art opening at a local gallery in Adams Morgan, and met up with a few other folks from the program. Then we went to have late night dinner at a STUPENDOUSLY good Italian restaurant which was so good in fact, that I even reviewed it on Yelp. AND I got another couple awesome scooter rides around the city from my friend Jed.

Sat my roomie Cara and I hit up the local farmers market that we love for some ridiculously good berries and cucumbers. Then I went out to an indie theater downtown with another friend from the program for yummie thai in Chinatown, and then a DC documentary about a school marching band (Ballou) here in the district that is from a really poor school but went on to compete in the nationals, apparently they're amazing.

Sun my roomie and I hit up the Arlington Drafthouse Cinema that I rant and rave about cause they have tables, swirly leather chairs, serve food and booze, and not just beer. They also have ridiculously cheap movie tickets, including $1 mondays. I saw the Upright Citizens Brigade there a while back.

Today was the first day of the Inspired Teaching Institute, and it was amazing. We did a bunch of interactive and creative activities today with all the staff and teachers, and honestly, I am SO lucky to be there. I feel that this will be one of the best work experiences I may have ever had thus far. And as long as I don't have a repeat of the crazy spendy week I just had, and keep my finances under wraps, I should be ok.

Lots of excitement indeed. And lots more to look forward to.
