I want to say this hasn't been a wasted weekend, but spending two days at home lounging around in your underwear and hanging out online is fun and all, but doesn't necessarily equal productive time well spent.
Ah well.
I can certainly say it's been a while since spending an entire day thusly has been a problem for me, so maybe I shouldn't get too hung up on it.
Yesterday I watched a lot of old and new Weeds episodes (the addiction to such a silly but phenomenal show is stupendous, really) uploading new photos on Flickr (as I'm done with Shutterfly's shitty interface) and then showered and went out to meet up with Chris Jackson and Amy Arenstein, who happened to be in town, visitin Amy's mom.
It was really nice. Mom took us all out for a scrumptious Thai dinner, and then even drove me home. Yay. So yes that was certainly very lovely. Then I hung out by myself (roomie had early early wake up this weekend for chores and sailing lessons and horses and what not) and watched Hedwig and the Angry Inch, which, I must be honest, I had not yet seen.
It was awesome.
This week has actually been a whole slew of fun things.
Thurs there was a CCT potluck Canadian Thanksgiving (I brought nothing, having been given a formal invite as I was on my way, oh well!) which was seriously fantastic. And the food was sooo good.
Friday I went out with some cool cats I've been hanging out with from CCT, we went out for Indian food (again, scrumptious) and then to see Darjeeling Limited, the new Wes Anderson flick, which I really enjoyed and would actually like to see again.
It's quirky and very Wes Anderson-y, up and down and at some points you love it, and then you hate it, but then you love it again. Honestly, the man is a weird genius, and so into rich dysfunctional families, that you don't really need to know what his films are about, because they're ALL about that.
Oh and then there was this:

That's the ladies pre-movie (l-r: Annette, myself, and Aaleeya)
Fun times.
So today, I vacuumed, did yoga, a few hours of requisite internet slacking off, and now I'm seriously prepared to do some work. Followed by dinner making. Oh yes.
Seriously. Life is so hard :P
