(no subject)
I finished my scholarship essay last night, and submitted. I think it's pretty good.
I worked my butt off for it though, that's for certain.
It was one of the only times i've been wholeheartedly engrossed in writing on a topic like this.
Seriously.
Something to ponder.
I am proud of the fact that i FINALLY was able to pull this off, i.e. put in a shitload of work for something that wasn't required of me.
Granted this one comes with a chance of scoring at least a grand, which certainly was the impetus, but even in the past I've never found the proper amounts of motivation to pull myself thru.
So yay.
I don't find out if my essay gets chosen for scholarship money till fall, but I did it, and I'm proud of myself, and that's that.
Last night i joked that i was going to get a few days of paper-writing rest, but of course TODAY i got my final paper assignment for class, so yeah. funny.
However, since tonight is definitely a chill night (maybe i'll do some dishes and laundry though, starting to get outta hand here) and tomorrow i'm going to a movie premiere with my goddess, so yeah, i won't start working on this puppy for a bit.
I have to finish it before i leave for europe, which is (YIKES!) two weeks from yesterday away!!

luckily today i finally got the time to call STA to see if i could order an international student id for me since i can get all sorts of discounts with it. i wasn't sure if i'd be qualified since they say you have to provide all this proof of being a full time enrolled student and all that. HA! I called, said I will be enrolled in Fall 07, the guy said ok, didn't bother getting anything but the name of the school, no checking, nothing! what a scam you could pull. seriously. i could have sworn you're supposed to provide all this documentation and what not.
lucky me.
of course it might not come in time. that would really suck. one guy said a week and a half, which would JUST barely make it before I leave tues night, and when i called to double check, this other girl said under 14 days. ok so yeah. keeping my fingers crossed for that one.
I have little else to report. ok that's a lie.
went to see an independent film part of the boston indy film fest on saturday: "The Beach Party at the Threshhold of Hell." it was pretty great :)
And of course, Amon Tobin on sun, which was lovely, although it seemed i was the only one really having fun. everyone i came with decided to go outside early, didnt stay till the end or the encore. he didnt' play his new stuff, but did break out some FANTASTIC old school drumnbass, which rocked my world. i'm such a dnb dork. it's just like candy. :)
