Job Stuff! and other things

I was going to post an update on Monday, because we'd had a busy few days before that, but then the Boston Marathon bombings happened, and I just didn't really feel like typing my random little weekend updates when all that was going on. I don't have any particular tie to Boston, but its a lovely city and I know some lovely people who live there. ( Read more... )

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking about the CPR/first-aid type stuff. Awhile ago, Jack and I were talking about this kind of thing - and we've decided we're absolutely going to do a course together, and especially do a baby CPR/first-aid when we are ready to start planning for a family. It's honestly the smart thing to do! I took a CPR/first-aid course before I started babysitting and it was so helpful.

Yay to new followers! and especially that you are liking it! YAY!!!!!!

Hope throwing the softball around was fun and your arm isn't too sore!

My arm isn't too sore - Palmer, on the other hand, was suffering afterward.

I kind of fell into it! When I started with the production company, I was hired on as a writer/researcher. My first projects were the newsletter and looking up local competition. The Facebook & Twitter stuff happened after, and its been evolving over the past few months.

I guess my main advice is to have some variation. Don't focus just on the company you're promoting, spread the love. Link to some of your "friends" or those you've worked with in the past, and the pingbacks they get will likely inspire them to link to you as well. On Twitter, @ replies are key, even stuff as simple as thanking someone for following you. Finally, pictures and media tend to draw in more viewers - the two albums I've put up for the production company have been really popular, and gotten us more followers with each post.

That all being said, I'm still learning all the lingo and tricks. We're really still figuring it all out, but as we do I'll be happy to share what I learn with you.
