on his knees, forehead on the floor, arms spread wide, palms pressed against the marble. He represented the centre of a large flower painted on the floor. The petals were the sigils of his blood.
There are so many powerful images I could quote from this story, but this one has remained the strongest in my mind. Although there is much pain, this is a story of deep and abiding love.

Also, I kept the vague hint of Lucious, because in a way it distracts from all the intensity of the H/D line and shows that the world is not over, does not resolve all around them... I don't know. I suppose I just like it as a moment and mood... :) Thank you for commenting.
