Yes, this is a rather annoying time of year, I would say.

I'm not certain about annoying -- to me, at any rate -- 'scarring', maybe but somewhat stressful, yes.

I like both school and summer!

Is September 1st the ideal day, then, as it's the crossroads between the two dates?

Oh, I didn't think about it that way, but I guess you're right! It's too bad it's only one day and doesn't last very long though. Oh, how were Mum's cupcakes? Were they all right? I wanted her to charm the worms so that they wiggled, but she said everyone probably wouldn't like that very much.

They were great, thanks -- Dad says thanks as well, and he'll write to her and Professor Longbottom soon I left him a note so he won't forget. Worms -- should probably not move if intended to be edible, no, but points for creativity?

It seemed to drag on so long until these past few days. I'm so ready to go back to school.

I fervently agree with this statement. You have no idea how much.

How was Spain?

Fantastic. I keep meaning to write a journal entry about it but I've still got half my photos undeveloped and I'm not going to have time before school starts (obviously). It's all a big jumble in my mind. But it was really, really great.

Where have you been these past few weeks?

I take it you didn't get dropped in the middle of nowhere in a quaint Spanish village, then? Sounds terrific -- an exciting vacation, but not too exciting like mine.

Stewing in mortification Finishing up the last of my summer homework, chores; nothing terribly worth noting (or writing up in list format, as seems to have been the trend recently).

Tell me about it.

I suppose I'll wish for summers such as I'm accustomed to in ten years if blunt head trauma ever occurs; for now -- not quite.

Maybe when I don't have to live with my father.

EXACTLY. Well, two more years, then. Or one, really, if you're determined.
