A week with Whitney

Our 14 year old niece has joined us for a week and so far it has been fantabulous.  We started out with a quick float down the river on tubes on Saturday.  That went over very well and on Sunday she wanted to do the long float.  5 hours long.   By the time we got out, the sun was almost set and we both looked like prunes.
Whitney has been having a ball with Corey and he has really taken a shine to her in return.  I think he is really going to miss her.
Monday went fairly quietly and they all stayed home.   They had to.  I had forgotten to take the baby seat out of the car before going to work, so Corey couldn't go anywhere.
Tuesday, I drove the Jeep to work and they came down for lunch.  Whitney wanted to go to Hooters to get a T-shirt.  Corey flirted and worked his magic on a "Hootie Girl" and took an autographed balloon home.
Wednesday I am off.  We are sleeping in today and this afternoon we will go to the Church Picnic at Horseshoe Bend Park.  They are baking "unicorn poo" as treats.  I'm not sure what that is, but the picture looks like red white and blue mixed cookies with sprinkles on it.
Who knows what Thurs or Fri will hold.
Then on Saturday, we have to get Whitney back to her folks.  They are meeting us part way.  It will be a nice little day-trip to someplace between Knoxville and Bristol.

I think Jan will miss her as much as Corey.   Not just because she is family, but because with Whitney around to play with Corey, Jan has actually had an opportunity to rest a little bit.

home, family
