I wouldn't worry. Just about everyone wants to jump into a different life now and then. And although there are always aspects of our person that we want to change to make things more fun/glamourous/amusing/interesting/morelikeme(jk), I think you are wrong....people aren't thinking "you don't have to change yourself for other people". Rather they are thinking "please don't change, what would we do without Thomas?" I mean seriously, would anyone else have sat on my sister and left her scarred for life? Nope, and think what fun we'd all be missing out on. Someone out there may be envious of your life, you never know. Just be patient, life is what you make it, just doing your thing. Cause you know, that's how you roll. lol
