Alright, once again it has been a super long time since I have updated. So I will try and make this quick, but a lot of cool stuff has happened lately, like me turning 21!
Ok, so here it is. April 7th:
I turn 21. Had to work out in Gloucester, MA on a drilling job. It was ridiculously boring, the drillers got nowhere by the end of the day. On my way home, I grabbed a box of Labatt Blue Light to celebrate when I got home. I got home around 430ish, enough time to enjoy a couple beers before headed out to dinner. My roomies (Talia, Ryan, Czaja, and Katie) took me out to the North End to a place called 5 North Square. It was amazing, as the North End usually is. After that we hit up some Mike's Pastries, just because you have to if you are in the area. After that we came home and relaxed. Czaja actually got me a present which is totally cool. She got me a sleeve of Titleist golf balls, which happen to be the ball I like to play. And then she got me this cool drum key in the shape of a Z. Talia got me another collared shirt and a new wallet, along with one of her classic homemade birthday cards with a list of 21 reasons why she likes me! It was really cool, and kind of funny too.
Friday, April 8th:
This was the night, the night Talia's dad had hooked us up with getting into Centerfold's (a stipclub for those of you who don't know). So the crew was: Me, Mark, Jake, Neil, and Dave. We started be grabbing some dinner in Chinatown. Pailes met up with us and showed us this Korean place where you cook your own food, and right at your table. So we had a couple Saki Bombs to start, and then enjoyed some lovely grilled chicken, pork, and beef, along with some white rice. After dinner Pailes left us, because he isn't 21 yet, and we headed to a bar for a few drinks before going to Centerfold's. We went to this place called The Tam right next to Centerfold's. It was grreat because the Red Sox game was still on so we got to catch the end of it. We had a bout 3 beers and decided we should head over to the club (about 1030). We got there and I noticed that the bouncer at the door wasn't the one that Talia had told me to talk to. So I got up there and asked for the other guy. He was like, who wants to know. So I told him who we were and why we were there, and then out of nowhere Johnny comes walking up from behind us., not even from inside the club, but like from across the street. He asks who I am, yada yada yada, and then was like, oh yeah, happy birthday buddy, follow me. So he took us inside and then they led us upstairs to a place with big comfy chairs. We sat and enjoyed ourselves. Before we left Mark wanted to go down and sit by the stage. So we went down there for one of the dancers, and I swear I could see Mark drooling, lol, jk. After that we split up. My NU friends were headed to another party, but I figured Mark wouldn't want to go, so we headed back towards his place and ended up going to the Casken Flaggen. We split a pitcher before they finally threw us out at 2 am. After that, I headed home and proceeded to throw my shoes at Talia, and then knaw on her face for a little while. And I think I shouldered her in the chin too...sorry!
Saturday, April 9th:
So my parents come down to Boston to take me out and celebrate my birthday. They invite Talia along. We head over to the Faniuel Hall area to grab some lunch. We hit up a place called The Rack, apparently better known for its night life. The first thing my mom does is make sure we take our first legal shot together. She gets her usually Tequila and I get Jeager. So we finished up lunch and then ecided to hit up a couple bars. We headed over to Cheers because that is where everybody knows my name. We had a beer took some pictures and then moved on. We decided to go for a little walk, and let things settle, so we went to Mike's Pastry. After that we decided to go to one last bar. We went to The Tap and split a picher before heading back to my place. Well my mom still wanted to drink, so we made a beerrun, brought it back to our place, and continued to drink in the dorm. That's right, my parents drank with us in our own dorm...And get this...my mom had never seen anybody play DDR, so Talia set it up, and they started to play. You know that my mom wanted to try...so she did...and she sucked...she was way to trashed to be trying stuff like that...
Sunday, April 10th:
Finally, an off day. did absolutely nothing...slept till about 2...
Monday, April 11th:
I was out on a construction site doing some balst monitoring which only goes as fast as the driller drills the holes and rock gets excavated. So Monday went by pretty quick, and I headed home around 1:30. I got a call from my aunt (on the other side of the family) about getting together and going to The Cheescake Factory to celebrate my birthday, along with my 2 cousins who also have birthdays in April. So I went out with them, about 13 of us and had another lovely birthday dinner. After that I got a call from my other aunt (my mom's sister) that she was in boston for the next couple days for business. She said that they were all headed out to a bar for the night, because I guess that is what they do. This meeting only takes place once a year, and people from all of their branches fly in for it. So I called her back when I got back to campus to find out if they were still going to be out at the bar, and she said most definitely. So I hopped on the T and headed over to Fanuel Hall and met up with her at a bar called The Black Rose. The place had been totally run over by just her company. One of their bigwigs gave a credit card, so it was an open bar. I didn't pay for one beer...or the tequila sunrise I ended up drinking at the end of the night. My plan was to catch the last T back, but when I foulnd out the drinks were free, I said screw that, I'll use the money I planned on buying beer with to grab a cab. So once again I was at a bar until they finally kicked us all out...
I can honestly say I don't really remember what I did on Tuesday and Wednesday...
Thursday, April 14th:
Back out in Waltham watching them blow up more rock and crap like that. After that, for the Sox game, Talia and I headed over to Mark's place at BU to drink and watch the game. We rollerbladed over, it was nice. After the game was over we kind of just sat around, drank some beer, had some pizza, and cheesy bread!
Friday, April 15th:
Still out in Waltham watching the blasting...and they finished so early today that I had to go back into the office and take care of some paperwork and the like. After that it was time to play cards with th guys at work, and drink more beer! We decided to set it up tournament style. There was 6 of us in the first game, 30 dollar buy in. I was losing my shirt, but somehow made a comeback and realized that I was going to at least get my money back. I ended up playing heads up against someone, and I noticed I was the chip leader. Finally a good hand comes up for both of us. I get dealt pocket Jacks, and soon find out he got dealt Ace 10 suited. The flop comes up Jack, some random card, and then a diamond. I check to slow play my 3 of a kind. He goes All In, I call instantly. We show our cards, and it looks like I am sitting in good shape. We watch the next two cards get turned over....2 more diamonds....that killed me...he got the flush...and became chip leader and never looked back. I won 50 dollars (net 20), but he took about 120 (net 90). We played again, and I didn't even place. One of the guys sister had come over to play with us, and she got hammered and was playing very stupid...she finished 2nd...We played one more time, for 20 dollars. I ended up going heads up against the same guy...and he took me out a lot quicker and easier that time. I got my money back. So overall I lost 10 bucks, and a couple for pizza and beer, but it was a great night.
So for those of you keeping track at home..starting the day after my birthday (friday) I was drunk at least 5 out of 8 days...not to mention whatever I did on Tuesday or Wednesday...now that is what I call a birthday week!
Saturday I stayed in bed until 130. Huge mistake. I woke up and my head was POUNDING. I overslept...got too much sleep. So I was pretty much useless for the entire day, which worked out because I had absolutely nothing to do. Saturday night we all hung out across the hall, played a couple of games because it was Katie's last night before moving back to NY.
Sunday was the day Katie was moving out, so we all woke up and had a pancake breakfast together. Then I showered and helped her bring some stuff down to her car...which was packed to its fullest when they left. Talia and I got ready to head over to her cousin's 40th birthday party in Acton. It was a Home Depot theme. It worked out well because I was able to wear my boots, hard hat, and orange vest. I was also able to gank a spare hard hat from work for Talia. It was a cool party, lots of good food, as usual for an Italian family.
Monday was marathon monday, and come to find out, I had the day off! That was a pleasant surprise I recieved on Friday afternoon. For once I didn't waste the day, Talia and I got up, went to downtown Crossing so I could get some new shoes, and then grabbed a quick lunch. We needed to get back because the Red Sox game had already started. We got back in time to catch the bottom of the second inning, and participate in beer-an-inning. I only picked up a 6 pack, so I didn't have enough for the entire game, but I was still feeling pretty good after those 6.
The rest of the week has been pretty boring so far. Tuesday and Wednesday I was in Waltham watching the blasting crew. And then yesterday and today I have been stuck in the office. Which has been okay because I need to get these field reports done. But now I will probably be getting crap work from my boss. I did find out, finally, that the drilling job in Deerfield is going to start next Wednesday. It looks, like I am going to be spending at least those first couple of nights out there...we'll see what happens after that...
And finally on a last note...I still have yet to hear from my doctor regarding my tests...yup...thats right, they were done at the very end of march, and here we are almost done april, and he is still not returning my phone calls....
so I obviously lied about keeping this quick...you guys should know this by now...have fun!!
