"Whoops! Zat vas not medicine!"
So my brother got me Team Fortress 2 for Christmas and we've been playing it. I have come to a conclusion.
I am absolute garbage at first-person shooters.
Kind of hilarious really, because I tried my hand a couple of classes and I suck at pretty much all of them :'D I'm getting better, honest.... I seem to have trouble with the whole WASD way of moving though, my brother was like "DUDE if you keep running around that way you're going to die a lot more than you already are! o_o"
I'm also blaming a teeeeeeeny bit of my suckery on the fact that my laptop will suddenly LAG TO HELL AND BACK to the point where the other players can see and call me on it D::::
..I still suck hardcore, though xD
My first run was as a Pyro. The longest I've lasted was almost 2 minutes. I did manage to light some dudes on fire shortly before they sniped me, so I'm kinda proud of that. Still can't peek around corners though, which is a big drawback... the Pyro's an ambush class and I've got all the stealth of an elephant crashing through a church roof.
I am a dreadful Pyro, but I love him so much. ;A; My favourite class for sure.
I tried the Medic next, and I'm probably going to say that it's the class that I use best, though I use 'best' lightly. I can't get the hang of switching weapons, which got me killed plenty of times. I panicked! THERE WERE PEOPLE TRYING TO LIGHT ME ON FIRE while simultaneously EXPLODING GRENADES AND ROCKETS all around me. :C
Still, it's kind of easier... I just run around healing people, though everyone yells "MEDIC! MEDIIIIC!" constantly and I'm usually the only one on the team! So I'm stuck running around like a 'tard with a medigun shooting coloured healing beams at people :'D
Can't play the Heavy at all, he's too slow and lumbering for me. I took the Soldier out for a test run, didn't do too badly... I still can't use my rocket-jump though, I'm not coordinated enough to pull it off :C
I'll give the other classes a shot, but I know for a fact that I probably won't be any good as them either. OH WELL! Practice makes perfect!
I HOPE EVERYONE'S HOLIDAY WAS FUN. Boxing Day was a bit crazy, but I went to go see Sherlock Holmes with my sibs. I want to bang Robert Downey Jr. so hard, oh man *A*
