I like John Kerry. I want him to be president. I don't want any comments arguing with this statement.
Many people disagree with me and I don't care. This is my opinion and I am entitled to it. While I won't necessarily give the exact reasons why I favor him over George Bush I will say this:
If John Kerry is elected I see a future for myself. And I don't mean to sound selfish but my future is what concerns me most. And with John Kerry I not only see a future, I see a happy future that I don't see with George Bush in office.
Now granted if George Bush is re-elected it's not the end of the world. But it would be another four years of hell as I see it.
Now before you Republicans go and have a hernia over my opinion realize that the most important issues to me are not necessarily the most important issues to everyone else. In fact they are most definitely not the most important issue to everyone else.
Tonight is very important to me. The outcome will effect not only my future but everyone's future as well. This is why I am baffled to as how some people don't care about this election. Even if you can't vote, you should be concerned with who will have an influence on your life for the next four years.
As I see the electoral votes fluctuate, I get excited when Kerry is up and nervous when he is down. It is almost like watching my favorite football team score a touchdown only to let the other team just walk down to their own end zone. It is a very nerve-wracking experience and I honestly cannot tell who might win tonight.
But for my own future - I pray it's Kerry.
