I'm back home again.  Camp wasn't as great as it was last year.  I felt very old and out of place this time.  A part of me is glad that this is going to be my last summer camp at Rainey.  It's time to grow up.

The rain is the first thing that I think of when I try to remember what happened this past week.  It started pouring on us on Monday morning around 4 and stayed with us well into later afternoon on Tuesday.  It soaked everything and everyone.  The ponchos and rain gears did very little to protect its owner from the downpour.  My shoes were water-logged because of the streams that was created by the heavy precipitation.  For the rest of the week, I had to use my flip flops because my attempts to dry my shoes proved to be fruitless.

So the rain and thunder knocked out power throughout camp on Monday morning.  The staff fed us cold danish and stale cereal for breakfast because the power was out.  After breakfast I went to my first class, forestry.  It was boring and lame.  There were only five kids and the teacher didn't want to teach us so he would let us go like 15 minutes before when we were suppose to be let out.  I skipped astronomy because I saw that there was no point to going to that class if the clouds were going to shield the stars from our eyes.  I did attend weather, though.  That class made Forestry look like a college course.  The teacher knew very little, almost nothing, about weather.  In fact, for the rest of the week, a kid in that class would stand in front of the rest of us and teach us the merit badge straight from the book.  I slept almost everyday in that class.

After third period is lunch.  Lunch is always chaotic.  Imagine 600 hyper and hungry kids who haven't hit puberty yet.  They yelled and screamed and ran around instead of waiting in line patiently.

I'm so tired right now.  I'm going to bed.  I'll add more tomorrow.
