Yeah...so the SAT was today. I took one last year, but that was the old one. For some reason it's really hard to get a good night's sleep when you know that in less than 12 hours your performance on a 3.75 hour test will determine whether or not you get into a good college. Got up at 6:45...ate...made sure i had everything...left at 7:30 for Yorktown High School.
Room 223. I don't think any other room was as interesting before the test. After our instructor thought the room was all set-up and the chairs in-place, he started to read his script and after about a minute turned around to discover that he didn't have a chalkboard on his side of the room. So he said "everyone turn your desks around". Then he discovered that we needed a clock in front of us, when the clock was now behind us. So he was like....oh man, how am i going to solve this? We were facing the side of the room with a TV, so he thought that maybe the TV would have a clock. So he turned it on to...none other than Saturday morning cartoons. He went to the menu to change the settings...but it was in FRENCH. And nobody there spoke french so he just tried to scroll around and finally found the Language settings. After he changed the words to English, he found the clock and set it to the right time. Then he turned it to channel 3 (blue screen) and made the clock display in the bottom right hand corner. I think we started later than any other room. I think everything went normally from there.
The essay (first section, 25 minutes) was about "majority rule". I used a few examples and elaborated on them, starting with the recent book ANTHEM. Oh, i forgot:
I had written about 6 lines, right? So i'm off to a good start and i have all my ideas in my head as to what i'm going to write so i'm like "Sweet, this is going to be easy...definately a 6/6" Wow, i really screwed myself over here. That's when i discovered that i had started writing on the 2nd page. So i had to quickly scramble to copy what i had to the 1st page and then erase everything on the 2nd page. Other than the fact that i kinda had to finish in the middle of a sentence, i did pretty well on the essay.
Um...math was easy i think. There were 3 sections, the 1st 2 i felt really confident on but the 3rd left me scrambling to finish in time for the last 4 answers and i didn't get to even read the last one. I think i may have left 2 answers blank the whole test. One was because i had absolutely no clue and the 2nd was the last math problem on the test.
Ok, nobody cares about my SAT. I realize that. My brain is fried.
